Anthony Dazey was murdered last Sunday, July 8th. I just found out last night, the funeral will be tomorrow. Anthony lived about 1/4 mile from the church at which I am the pastor. He attended about three years before moving out-of-town. I spent two weeks at church camp with him about 5-6 years ago. His dad, who passed away just a few months ago, was a friend of mine and wonderful father to his three kids. The family struggled financially so we helped them on several occasions, but their struggles only made them closer.

Anthony , age 20, is dead. Murdered. From what his sister told us, it was because of a heated argument over a parking space. I am still in shock but will attend the funeral tomorrow and try to offer comfort to a family who is already struggling with the early passing of their husband and father. I have no deep thoughts to share with you about the brevity of life, surety of death, senselessness of violence, significance of relationships, value of ministry, reality of grief, the sovereignty of God, or the comfort of the Spirit. Anthony is dead. Murdered. I find it difficult thinking about anything else. Please pray for the Dazey family.
