LeBron-mania

9 07 2010

Have we gone crazy? The event was headline news in every major media market in this nation. Its announcement made prime time television for 60 minutes. What was this earth-shaking event? It was the city of Lebron’s next court. It was the willingness of a club to pay 100 million dollars for a man to play with a ball. It was an advertisement to the world of our affluence and arrogance. People are dying in war, others are eking out a living on $5.00 a day, our real heroes in Iraq and Afghanistan go unnoticed, and we concern ourselves about where a man will bounce a ball? Don’t get me wrong, I am from N.E. Ohio and like Lebron as a player, but isn’t the hype overkill? By the way, I still had a good night’s sleep after hearing his decision.
